RELATIONSHIPS
10 QUICK FACTS
01. rents the apartment above sherwood florist, thanks to isla and her aunt.
02. doesn't normally have hookups/one night stands; prefers to be in a committed relationship. if she does, it's because she is comfortable with and trusts her partner.
03. she has a rather
complicated and embarrassing history with
dominic, but refuses to tell
anyone about it.
04. has an affinity for cute teacup anything videos - pigs, kittens, puppies - and follows an embarrassing number of them on instagram.
05. enjoys baking, so much so that she seriously considered opening a bakery in boston after graduating if she had had the money and resources to make an actual go of it. as it stands, she still does cake decorating out of her small kitchen for friends and parties. it's the one thing she knows she's unfailingly good at - and also the one thing she's afraid to show most people.
06. she will actually fight you if you spoil a show for her.
07. seriously.
08. can and will subvert the conversation back to whomever she's speaking with when she doesn't want to talk about herself.
09. halloween is her second favorite holiday (only to christmas) and because her birthday is so close, she deems this a valid excuse to hold costume parties of various themes every year (previous years include: favorite tv characters, most used emoji, and 50s sock hop).
10. still secretly wishes she were helping people - a desk job is great and she can't complain, but she usually finds herself wondering if she's actually making a difference in the world like her mother does. she always seems to fall back to jobs that tap into her need to help others.
CV BASICS
stephanie brown.
spoiler/robin IV/batgirl III.
august 11th.
stephanie brown, best known for being the example of 'what not to do' in the batfamily, made her start as the hero
spoiler: enemy of crime and people who hate purple! she caught onto her father's (cluemaster's) antics and decided to stop him by 'spoiling' his plans. following a semi-complicated relationship with the third robin - tim drake - steph took the mantle on herself, as batman's protege. it didn't last long and, after starting an accidental gangwar, steph was kidnapped by the villain black mask and tortured for days, after which she died. later, however, stephanie returned - dr. leslie tompkins had actually taken her away from gotham to africa to recuperate. after bruce's supposed death and her best friend leaving the mantle in her hands, steph eventually took on the role of batgirl, with oracle as her mentor.

ABOUT
the truth of the matter was: crappy things happened to almost everyone. tragic backstories came a dime a dozen, so sabrina blake never thought hers to be any better or worse than the next guy and considered this to be a truth from a very young age: bad things happened sometimes. people will hurt you. people will screw up. everyone was human. but it was how you reacted and moved on that defined who you were. 'the only variable you can control is yourself.' became her life motto and sabrina blake was always determined to be the best possible version of herself that she could.
born to andrew and claire blake on october 24th, sabrina never really considered that life was abnormal. sure, sometimes her dad drank.
sometimes he yelled at her about stupid stuff like leaving her toys out or not eating all of her vegetables, but she never thought much of it. until one night when she heard the yelling, after her parents had sent her to bed, and she caught sight of her father hitting her mother. repeatedly. even at seven, sabrina realized this wasn't okay, and ran to call the police. upon their arrival, her mother brushed the incident off as a marital dispute - and seeing as her father was a well-respected doctor at the hospital - nothing was said, nor reported. later, she'd chastise sabrina for 'tattling' on her father and make her swear to never do it again ("growns ups fight sometimes, sweetheart."), but sabrina was determined to make the injustice right. when she saw it happen the next time - at age 11 - it was sabrina who stepped in to intervene. all of four feet nothing, sabrina ran down the stairs to ask what was happening, to yell at her father to stop, to put herself between her parents. thought she'd only known her father as a fairly kind and charming man, he turned his wrath on her for stepping between he and her mother. this time, however, her daughter's broken arm and black eye were all the incentive claire needed to take her daughter and finally leave, moving them across the country to boston. a few years later, when she was older, claire would eventually tell sabrina the entire story about the abusive relationship - if only to warn her daughter against going down the same path.
middle school in boston wasn't exactly horrible. sure, life wasn't glamorous by any means - her mother got them a small apartment in Hyde Park and a job at massachusetts general as a surgical nurse - but she was safe(-ish) and could make new friends without being bound by her past. for a girl who always dreamed of something exciting happening to her, she finally had a fresh start to be anyone she wanted to be. she began to thrive in school, making new friends and studying hard. she was even afforded luxuries like tumbling classes and a shiny new laptop in their newfound independence, and she found she actually thrived in a stable environment. and while her mother worked long shifts and most weekends, sabrina found company in tv and after-school activities like self defense classes and volunteering at the hospital. it probably looked like a schtick on her college applications, she knew, but sabrina genuinely loved her time spent volunteering and found she actually quite enjoyed helping people.
her fondness for helping carried over to high school, where she began taking part-time jobs tutoring fellow students and underclassmen for extra cash. of course, her first love was sports, but none more so than gymnastics. while she cheered her freshman year, she found it wasn't quite enough and devoted herself full time to gymnastics. having taken lessons for the last several years, sabrina was good enough to secure a spot on the jv team her sophomore year and the varsity by junior. when her senior year came around, she was offered a scholarship to the university of massachusetts for gymnastics and while she loved competing, sabrina knew this was likely her only shot to actually get a good education without a massive debt.
unfortunately, much like all of her best laid plans, sabrina wasn't exactly sure
what she wanted to do. she knew she enjoyed helping people, but she wasn't as skilled as her mother at nursing (nor did she like the sight of blood). she thought about joining the peace corp or a missions trip, but she wasn't sure she even possessed the kind of faith needed for that. so she bounced from major to major - marketing, hospital administration, even accounting - and finally ended up with a degree in business management.
she currently works as a receptionist at wallach industries. she previously held part-time jobs bartending at the pub on 7th street, floral arrangements at sherwood, and one memorable summer she worked as a clown for kids' birthday parties.
never again.
she doesn't exactly have her life figured out, but she's
trying. she knows what she enjoys, she even knows what she's
good at. but she knows she's not
great at anything and, really, why settle for less? she's patient enough to wait for her story to really begin. up til this point has just been the really awesome prologue.
